St Mary’s church is open for private prayer and visitors on Tuesdays

10am – 1pm: November – December

The church has recently had its internal walls re-painted and its windows cleaned. It is therefore looking particularly bright.

The historic church of St. Mary’s is one of the Anglican churches in the parish of South Lancing and Sompting, situated on the edge of the South Downs.

St. Mary’s Church, which dates back over 1000 years, is famous all over the world for its Saxon tower. Not only is the church of great architectural significance, it’s also the home of an active Christian community.

The Friends of Sompting Church is a long-established registered charity committed to raising funds for the maintenance and repair of the historic building. Please click the menu at the top of this page to learn more about St. Mary’s church and our fund-raising activities to support it.
